Website

The Feminist and Women’s Studies Association UK and Ireland (FWSA) collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. FWSA’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how FWSA’s visitors use its website. Upon entering the FWSA website, we ask for your consent in collecting this information.

If you sign up to the FWSA website mailing list, the FWSA collects name and email details via the Email Subscribers WordPress plugin(please note: the Email Subscribers plugin does not store any data) and we request your consent for this when you sign up by ticking a consent box. You can unsubscribe from this mailing list at any time, either through any communications received by the mailing list or by emailing fwsachair@gmail.com. If you unsubscribe, all data we hold will be deleted.

Membership

FWSA collects member details upon joining the Association via a membership form issued to new members. The details you submit are used internally by the FWSA for the purposes of membership administration; with consent given on the member details form, your email address will also be added to the FWSA JISCmail database for the purposes of communication via the FWSA JISCmail list (please note: a separate privacy notice pertaining to JISCmail’s data protection is issued upon joining the list).

The FWSA may also collect additional details from those entering competitions or prizes, for the purposes of auditing and managing these schemes. This information is not shared beyond the FWSA.

The FWSA does not share member details with any other organisation or association, and member details are deleted from our records upon cessation of membership/or the duration of the relevant competition. If you do not consent to your member details being collected or to your email address being added to the JISCmail list you may opt out during the member registration process or change your preferences at any time by contacting fwsachair@gmail.com.
